How resellers track 200 parcels a week without losing one

At ten parcels a week you remember them. At fifty you have a spreadsheet. At two hundred, spread across Royal Mail, DPD, Evri and a couple of couriers you've never heard of, you have a problem that costs real money: refunds you never claimed, parcels you never noticed didn't arrive, and hours a week copying tracking numbers around.

Where the spreadsheet breaks

The tracking number has to be typed in, so it isn't. The status has to be checked by hand, so it's stale. There's no link between the order confirmation, the dispatch email, and the parcel, so a cancelled order sits in your list as if it's coming. And nothing tells you when something's gone quiet for a week.

What a real setup needs

Orders should appear from your inbox. The confirmation creates the row, the dispatch email attaches the tracking number and carrier, and a cancellation removes it, without you touching anything.

Every parcel should have a live status from the carrier, grouped so you can see what's out for delivery today, what's late, and what's been stuck at a depot for three days.

It should tell you when to worry. A parcel that hasn't moved in a week is a claim waiting to happen, and you should hear about it before the claim window closes.

Minted's order tracker does all of this for members. Link an inbox, tick the retailers you buy from, and orders and parcels appear and update themselves. Redirects, groups, favourites and late alerts sit on top.

Retailers that don't email tracking

Some do it late, some never, and some send a tracking number that isn't live until the next day. A good tracker handles that by waiting rather than failing: the parcel sits as awaiting dispatch until the carrier has it, then picks up on its own.

Questions

Which carriers are supported?

Royal Mail, DPD, Evri, Parcelforce and the other UK carriers members actually get parcels from. If a retailer uses something else, it's usually added within a week of being asked.

Do I have to give Minted my email password?

Members connect an inbox using an app-specific password or IMAP login that only reads mail. It can be revoked at any time from your email provider.

Can I add parcels by hand?

Yes. Paste a tracking number and it's tracked the same way.
